Never thought our season would be over before the Spuds'. As mentioned in the newsletter, if we can't even manage a goal of our own over 180 minutes then we don't deserve to go through. PSV were poor which makes it hard to take, but they were clinical with their chances (only 1 shot on target yesterday). If Ade or Fab had taken one of our chances then it might have been different. So annoying that all the other English sides got through as I'd have fancied our chances against any of them. Oh well, concentrate on the league now...

I've managed to offend the only two people brave enough to mention the game to me so far today - and one of those was my mom. Whoops.

;D I had to stop myself last night from saying anything to my Mum. Why do people say "It's only a game"? The four most irritating words in the English language!

I have to agree. And you know what else is irritating ? People who support other teams gloating over our misfortune. I've had a Manc do it today - why?! I suggested that it might be because he couldn't gloat after either of our meetings this season... he's been quieter since. The next one who bothers me - I'll have them killed. It's only fair.

LMFAO!
That's more than fair mate. Maybe a little drastic but still fair. ;D
The Mancs were more than lucky last night. Lille should have scored from a free kick and they hit the post. They just seem to have all the luck at the moment but fair dues to them that they're making the most of it. We had our luck with the own goal last night but should have scored after it with the Ade and Fab chances.

Story of the last fortnight... Anyway, I'm off home - got a game tonight, and man alive is some opposing player going to pay for all this misery.

The level of football we have played has been a joy to watch, results have not gone our way but i am proud of our style of football and so should everyone else, sometimes things are not meant to be, and this season was one of those times. I cannot believe the comments being made in the press, radio,tv, were the games against psv (twice) blackburn, chelsea won by the better team, the team that played football, the team that is playing the beautiful game. This is a sport that is meant to be attractive to the public, how many teams try to play stylish football. Ultimately skill will overcome luck, brawn, kick and rush. Look at the world cup winners Brazil, argentina, italy, france, proper footballing nations. Do not be depressed, class will out.

Oh don't get me wrong, I am proud of our football. Injuries have certainly played their part this season so hopefully we can steer clear of any major ones next season.
It's just hard to take 3 consecutive lows in the space of 11 days. Starting to hurt a bit more with the CL draw about to take place.

Well i think it's just started to hit me today. The CL draw with us not in it, the FA cup 1/4 finals coming up over the weekend and us not in them either. Confirmation that the Final looks set to be at the new Wembley and we won't be in it. My Mancs supporting boss had a couple of days off but still managed to phone in to the shop to gloat, until i mentioned the fact that they hadn't took a point of us and that although they may be in pole position in the league and still in the CL and FA cups they haven't actually won anything yet either. I'm not bitter and twisted but i shall be cheering on the mighty Boro tomorrow and might even try and look out for a Roma shirt just in case ;D.
Still,i'm already looking forward to next season and seeing a fully rested and injury free TH14 ready to spring out of the blocks and show us what we have been missing this season. After all its not all doom and gloom. We are still unbeaten at the Grove and if we can turn some of those hard earned draws into victories and hit the ground running at the start of the season i'm convinced that AW's next great team is just around the corner. Seeing some of the youngsters coming through and gaining valuable experience which i'm sure we will see the benefit of next season along with a little better luck on the injury front only leads me to think that more silverware will be bestowed upon us very soon.

And I thought I was fed up with this season! Check out the Highbury Spy's article on onlinegooner. www.onlinegooner.com/exclusive/index.php?id=239Who would have thought that the alleged comment from Wenger about Manure not being able to last for 90 minutes would have backfired so spectacularly? The Spy does have a point with the defensive substitutions. It does my head in when we make one of those to try and shut out the game. We're just not capable of doing it so why bother! Attack is the best form of defence so taking off strikers to hold out for a draw or to maintain a one goal lead is stupid.
